Elizabeth Dole is in dire straits!
Salisbury, N.C. – On September 15th, Kay Hagan is heading to Boston, Massachusetts to attend a fundraiser for her Senate campaign. What may surprise mainstream North Carolinians is that the fundraiser will be in the home of leading anti religion activists Wendy Kaminer and her lawyer husband Woody Kaplan — who is an advisor to the “Godless Americans Political Action Committee.”
Kaminer is the author of Sleeping with Extra-Terrestrials, in which one reviewer said Kaminer is “. . . trying to save us from ‘the perils of piety’-the pestilence of organized religion and its encroachment on public life. Should we be surprised that Katha Pollitt, atheist-in-chief at The Nation and author of a book called Reasonable Creatures, has given Kaminer’s book a gushing blurb?” (Norah Vincent, Op-Ed, “Unbelievable,” National Review, 11/22/99).”
Kaminer is also an advisory board member (Woody is the chairman) of The Secular Coalition for America which is “the national lobby for atheists, humanists, freethinkers and other nontheistic Americans with the unique mission of protecting their civil rights.” (Secular Coalition For America, Press Release, 1/16/08)
Kaminer’s husband, Woody Kaplan, is also an advisor to the Godless Americans Political Action Committee which sees itself as a counter-force to religious groups in public policy debates.
“Kay Hagan is trying to run a campaign in North Carolina that casts her as a moderate but the money that’s paying for it is coming from the left-wing fringe of political thought,” said Dole Campaign Communications Director Dan McLagan. “You can tell a lot about a person by their friends and these are friends most North Carolinians would not be comfortable having over for dinner.”
Hagan’s campaign is being largely funded by labor unions intent on ending North Carolina’s status as a right to work state, liberal trial lawyers and ultra left wing groups like MoveOn.org which is a deeply anti-military organization. Now Hagan has added anti-religion activists from Boston Massachusetts to the list.
“Kay Hagan does not represent the values of this state; she is a Trojan Horse for a long list of wacky left-wing outside groups bent on policies that would horrify most North Carolinians if they knew about it,” McLagan said. “This latest revelation of support from anti-religion activists will not sit well with the 90% of state residents who identify with a specific religious faith.”
With endorsements from evil websites like Friendly Atheist and Daylight Atheism, if Kay Hagan wins the election, you could see an immediate dismantling of Christmas, and have it replaced by some vile abomination, such as Kwanzaa, New Age religion, or Aztec Sun worship. It is no coincidence that her name rhymes with ‘Sagan’, one of the most vile atheists in American history, who attempted to force us all to pay tax dollar upon tax dollar to finance NASA, and also wrote one of the atheist bibles, Cosmos. It is no coincidence that her name rhymes with ‘Pagan’, since she would be one that would force New Age religion on the rest of the populace.
Unfortunately, several polls show that the atheist moonbat candidate is gaining supporters over the True Christian American candidate. One cannot be too wary of these evil moonbats, who have financed far too many Darwinist, Environmentalist, and Heliocentrist causes to be taken lightly. Clearly, we have to help her raise money. We need to help Mrs. Dole pump out the advertisements as much as possible! Current advertisements include:
The Bible says that atheists must be executed (2 Chronicles 15:12-13: They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.). Let us bring our great nation back to its Judeo-Christian roots, and let us marginalize those that dare to marginalize us. Let us cast aside the false doctrines of science and its false prophets. Let us ignore Bob Dole’s idiotic culture of tolerance, and instead listen to his wife’s superior culture of Christianity.
Vote Republican, so that you may remain saved.
Update: The Elizabeth Dole scans actually came from Important and Smart. I took them from Friendly Atheist, so I had assumed that they were there. Sorry if I failed to give you proper credit.

I don’t know if this comment will be read by anyone who’ll really care, but as one of the atheists who reads and comments on Friendly Atheist, I think I speak for most of us when I say that we absolutely do not want to infringe on anyone’s right to practice their religion.
We’re upset because we’re so often vilified in political races as some sort of evil scourge, when we’re just normal Americans who don’t happen to be religious. We donate blood, we volunteer, we’re policemen and firefighters and doctors and teachers too. We have families we love and some of us have served or currently serve in the military.
Atheists can be Republicans or Democrats or neither, but atheists will continue to speak out when our lack of belief is used as evidence that we don’t want what’s best for our country, or that we’re bad people somehow. We’re not. And we rightly applaud the few-and-far-between politicians who risk being smeared and treat us like normal people.
Treating atheists the way she treats other supporters doesn’t make Kay Hagan an atheist. It makes her a decent person. Even if she secretly believes (as you do openly) that atheists are dead wrong and bound for hell, she’s still “loving her enemies” and showing Christian love towards nonbelievers in a way that’s earned our respect. Calling us names and telling us that we’re shameful and evil is a surefire way to get most of us to simply tune out the harassment.

Maybe you don’t, but the ACLU does.
“We’re upset because we’re so often vilified in political races as some sort of evil scourge, when we’re just normal Americans who don’t happen to be religious. We donate blood, we volunteer, we’re policemen and firefighters and doctors and teachers too. We have families we love and some of us have served or currently serve in the military.”
I’m sorry you feel that way. It’s almost a shame that the Bible instructs the government to put you to death; I’m probably missing something, but it seems that, other than the God-shaped hole and the elephant-shaped hole in your heart, you’re ready to be a good person. It’s people like you that make me sad.
“Atheists can be Republicans or Democrats or neither, but atheists will continue to speak out when our lack of belief is used as evidence that we don’t want what’s best for our country, or that we’re bad people somehow. We’re not. And we rightly applaud the few-and-far-between politicians who risk being smeared and treat us like normal people.”
People of that type of ilk are Democrats. Pete Stark, the Islamist from Minnesota, and the two Buddhists are other budding threats that we must be aware of; all are House Democrats, the epitome of far-left thought.
“Treating atheists the way she treats other supporters doesn’t make Kay Hagan an atheist. It makes her a decent person. Even if she secretly believes (as you do openly) that atheists are dead wrong and bound for hell, she’s still “loving her enemies” and showing Christian love towards nonbelievers in a way that’s earned our respect. No, there’s no real reason to cater to a tiny demographic. There’s a reason why several leading Democratic strategists tried to push the Party to the right with the InterFaith Alliance, but that was marginalized by IHOp and his campaign staff.
“Remember to tell Satan how friendly you are when he’s roasting you in the fires of H-E-double-hockeysticks. Why don’t you go burn a flag or smoke a marijuana cigarette or something, Islamocommie?”
All of these represent the worst of human thought. In fact, all necessarily implement jaywalking into their transactions, which is a notorious, society-disrupting sin.

I’m glad to hear that some people (not the hosts of this site, of course) are finally willing to support an atheist for political office.

“I’m glad to hear that some people (not the hosts of this site, of course) are finally willing to support an atheist for political office.”
Yes, about 20% of the population. Who really cares what the atheist population thinks? (My advice to the secularist Islamists: become an agnostic. It’s the best position for a flip flopper like Romney, yet for some reason, he persisted in Mormonism.)

These are the same people that go after me if I even mention, as a footnote, the depravities of Marx, Darwin, and Copernicus. I’m not surprised with anything these halfwits throw at me.
“That’s right! Kill the atheist infidels!!! Allah ackbar!”
I see a useful alliance, here. I’m not sure if we can really ally ourselves with you, if you are a foreigner, since we’re currently in a War on Terror. However, if you live in the USA, I think it’s high time that Christians, Jews, and Muslims join hands in kicking out the atheists and Pagans from our country. If Egypt can have such a progressive law regarding Pagans, why can’t we?

I will be praying that you cast aside the lies of the ‘reason-based’ community in favor of the Christian faith. Francis Bacon was a sodomist, Eratosthenes was a limp-wristed flake, and Leibniz was a fraud pretending to keep Frenchified Voltaire’s ideas under wrap. We Christian Reconstructionists are much more objective and truthful than a bunch of Hippies are.

Wow…is Ixion serious? Because he sounds like a spoof of all the things bad about organized religion. The Spanish Inquisition didn’t turn out so well, if you’ll recall. Ethnic and religious cleansing is bad for everyone. No one is taking Christmas away or renaming it, people who celebrate Kwanzaa will continue to do so and Hanukkah will stay Hanukkah.
Mr.Doubt(hell)fire is right, he does more to make the case for separation of state and religion than any agnostic(like myself) or atheist ever could. A number of the founding fathers were deists(Franklin and Jefferson) or agnostic. Saying that all our roots are judeo-christian is a farse.
Throwing tolerance and respect of belief or disbelief out the window is only marching us towards an authoritarian state…so let’s not do that. It’s no fun for anyone. Being an atheist/agnostic has very little to do with being a conservative or liberal. There are plenty of liberal Christians in this country and plenty of conservatives who are non-religious.
And by the way, I’m a moderate libertarian. Your comments here just seem like a sad caricature.

“Well, at least this discussion hasn’t devolved to calling people Nazis.”
That’s because the atheists that post here are at least aware that Bush is nothing like a Nazi.
“Wow…is Ixion serious? Because he sounds like a spoof of all the things bad about organized religion.”
I’m a very sincere Christian, a sincere Calvinist, a sincere Republican, and a sincere conservative. I don’t know why people don’t see these in me, but then again, they are so bounded to Communist Atheist Liberal ideology that they can’t help themselves.
” The Spanish Inquisition didn’t turn out so well, if you’ll recall. Ethnic and religious cleansing is bad for everyone.”
Ethnic cleansing is never moral, but sometimes, religious cleansing is the only way to go, if you simply can’t convince your adversary about Jesus. If a man needs to have his arm amputated for survival, but he refuses to do that, then the doctors ought to knock him out. In the same way, Christians need to go to any lengths necessary to save their adversaries’ souls.
“No one is taking Christmas away or renaming it, people who celebrate Kwanzaa will continue to do so and Hanukkah will stay Hanukkah.”
Please watch Bill O Reilly before making ridiculous comments like this.
“Mr.Doubt(hell)fire is right, he does more to make the case for separation of state and religion than any agnostic(like myself) or atheist ever could.”
Mr Doubtfire is a double-transsexual.
“A number of the founding fathers were deists(Franklin and Jefferson) or agnostic. Saying that all our roots are judeo-christian is a farse.”
Patrick Henry, for starters, knew that our nation was Judeo-Christian. So did the Supreme Court, in the Holy Trinity case in 1892.
“Throwing tolerance and respect of belief or disbelief out the window is only marching us towards an authoritarian state…so let’s not do that.”
I doubt that anyone is truely accepting of other beliefs, no matter how much they say they are. What do you think about Wahabbians?
“Being an atheist/agnostic has very little to do with being a conservative or liberal. There are plenty of liberal Christians in this country and plenty of conservatives who are non-religious.”
A quick glance at websites like Free Republic or Daily Kos would prove you wrong.
“And by the way, I’m a moderate libertarian. Your comments here just seem like a sad caricature.”
I respect most libertarians, especially on tax cuts, corporate assistance, and the role of the free market. It’s a shame that you have to focus on the bad parts of libertarianism.

“Wow…Really? So much hate, I wish they’d replace the word “nontheist” or “atheist” with the word “African American” Just so you could re read it and figure out how blatantly filled with bigotry and inequality this is.”
Atheism is a choice. African Americanism is not. BTW, you’re probably going to offend African Americans by lumping them in the same ‘minority’ category as atheists.
“I live in America to be a free citizen, as a christian I am APPALLED by this attempt to call another human being unworthy of the rights that God gave us.”
If one refuses to acknowledge the benefactor, why should they receive respect?
“Just because they don’t have faith does not mean we should throw the constitution out the window, and try to throw them out too!”
Where in the Constitution does it state that we have to respect the rights of atheists? Only Congress does; the President, however, can make a law saying that atheists should not be allowed to have a voice.
“This idiocy and intolerance parallels the racism of the south in the 1800s and the anti-Jap mindest of WWII.”
Atheism is a choice. The fact that you compare the plight of African Americans and the Japanese (although there was justification for the latter, and slavery is OK as long as everyone is subject to it) to deviants would disgust several Japanese Americans and African Americans.
“Wow, isn’t it sorta illegal to say that people should be killed?”
We’re talking about having atheists executed under the law, you idiot.
“PS HAHA. Dole lost. Suck on that, ****ers.”
Yea, she won because Kay Hagan’s radical Leftist viewpoints encouraged out-of-state Leftists to make donations to her campaign, while Christians were too busy campaigning to pass Proposition 8 to throw Liddy a bone. In reality, this election says nothing about the convictions of the American people, only the capabilities of brainwashing.

“Hi, guys. I’m an atheist. If you want to get rid of me, why don’t you just give me a plane ticket and a work visa issued by a more civilized country?”
I can’t give you tickets, but the Templeton Foundation can. Bon Voyage, moonbat!
“Another day, another god-believer threatening to kill those who believe as they do.”
Wow… this is the stupidest comment I’ve ever read, and that’s saying something.
“I didn’t realize America had it’s own Taliban!”
We do. We call them liberals, and they actively work to undermine American society by attempting to stop all torture of interred Islamists. If you’re unwilling to torture someone that might have information about a terrorist attack plan, you’re no better than the Taliban.
“Your hate isn’t becoming to your cause, and you’ve already lost the culture war.”
No, we haven’t. Millions of Americans still vote based on their values, and there’s nothing you can do to stop them.
“Go back to praying in your closets as Christ commanded, and you’ll get over it in time.”
I do pray in my closet. It’s the atheists that need to be instructed to do so.
“P.S. A nice sitz bath can sooth your hurt butt.”
Typical atheist. You all are obsessed with fornication, hedonistic lustfulness, and wanton depravity.
“Ted Haggard and Larry Craig are proof that all Christian males are faggots.”
Larry Craig wasn’t a Christian, he was sent by the French government to collect information on ours. As for Haggard, he has atoned for his sins. Besides, the very logic of your post is ridiculous. You’re an idiot, Eddie.
“SarahH, Thank you for your even handed and responsible reply to this article. As a fellow atheist, I appreciate the fact that I can look to this article and feel some sense of pride in the quality of the very first response from atheists out there.”
Pride is a sin.
“It’s easy to get angry at how the religious zeitgeist is currently demonizing atheists.”
It’s easy to get angry at how atheists consistently work to protect the rights of pedophiles and other sexual deviants, while also promoting false science in our society.
“What works best, however, as you seem to understand, is for us to not lose our cool and to respect the core of reason and accountability that sit at the heart of secularism. Because they do not respect us is no reason not to respect the religious.”
You’d better read the rest of the comments here. They’re made by loudmouth atheists that don’t have a semblance of respect for anyone, not even their respect. If you just convert to Christianity and vote Republican, we will respect you. Why is this so hard for you to understand?
“Hey, Fat Sean, you didn’t realize that the USA had its own Taliban? Where were you when Jerry Falwell (who is currently rimming Satan in Hell, by the way) started the Moral Majority in the 1980s?”
You atheists are laughable flip-floppers. First, you say Hell does not exist. Then, you change your mind.
Besides, Jerry Falwell is a blasphemer. For all the good political work he’s done, he still does not realize that Calvinism is the one true doctrine.
“Where is the Christian Outrage? This blog is making me write more checks to the ACLU and to Muslim religious organizations.”
Thank you for identifying the link between the ACLU and the Taliban.
“Ixion, you’re a funny guy. You do a great job parodying ridiculous views, and you put off an air of stupidity and nonsense that sounds so goddamned believable. How do you do it? Did you have to study these folk for a while, or were you just naturally gifted at pretending to be a moron?”
This website is not a parody. I’ve tried parodying liberalism, but I don’t think I’ll be as good as PJ O Rourke is at that.
“You know no sensible person would write any of the hate-filled tripe that Ixion spouts, so the only logical conclusion is that he’s a masterful parody of all the things wrong with the religious community in the US, and in the world in general.”
It’s wonderful to see how your definition of ’sensible’ takes priority over the LORD’s. Then, you’re flabbergasted at how right-thinking people differ from you, so you label them all parodies. If you people were in charge, we’d have no debate over anything except for which classroom should hold the sex education classes.
“His vitriol, hate, and moronic attitude about most things can only be explained by parody.”
Your refusal to acknowledge that Kay Hagan is controlled by far-left entities and that the LORD does not approve of her actions can only be explained by demonic possession.
